From garlandcannon:

This friendly (unpolled but desharpened) longhorn, all brown and white,

I love with all my dairy-appreciating heart:

She gives her calf creamy milk with her maternal might,

To prepare him for life’s grown-up part.
———

She wanders lowing here and there,

And (although with those horns she surely could!) she doesn’t stray,

All in the southwest’s open air,

The intense light of day;
————-

And blown by the many winds that pass

And wet with the few showers,

She walks among the desert grass

And eats the desert flowers.

The friendly cow, all red and white,
I love with all my heart:
She gives me cream with all her might,
To eat with apple tart.

She wanders lowing here and there,
And yet she cannot stray,
All in the pleasant open air,
The pleasant light of day;

And blown by all the winds that pass
And wet with all the showers,
She walks among the meadow grass
And eats the meadow flowers.
